Ayla, Woman Who Brings Light To This Earth, was given this name by a Lakota Sioux elder named Mary Thunder. This name carried with it the responsibility to awaken others “to the Light that shines within” and so Ayla’s story goes.

Ayla is committed to offering cutting edge preventative care by integrating modern techniques with ancient wisdom and practices. Ayla also works as a shamanic practitioner, therapeutic massage therapist, Reiki Master, teacher, workshop designer/ facilitator, and visionary.  For fun Ayla enjoys being an artist, is a singer/songwriter, and creates services for people and planetary healing.

As a shamanic practitioner Ayla completed a two year Luminous Energy Field Training with Four Winds Society before continuing her advanced studies with Jose Luis Herrera in Holland and Peru, receiving the rites of passage from the Q’ero elders on the mountains of Peru. She integrates the teachings of Carolyn Myss and the Family Constellation work by developing an understanding of original wounds and their origin. Known in the northeast for her family lineage healing work she is featured in several documentaries and is a guest on radio talk shows for her revolutionary perspective on family patterns and how to create an experience of healing for yourself and your family.  Ayla’s skills blossomed through her own healing journey which began with a near death experience.

Ayla, inspired by requests from guests who witnessed her multi-media presentation, "Dear Child", began in private practice in 1990. Her own hero's journey lead her to embody the "healer", making it possible for her to intuit tension, compromises and core wounds - whether in the physcial, emotional, or spiritual body. Over years she has developed a keen awareness as a means of communion, which in turn releases compromises at the deepest levels needed. She is a Nationally certified massage and body therapist.

Whether during a private session, teaching, facilitating a workshop or public speaking she is skilled at opening the mind to see many different perspectives. Ayla uses various approaches to address the different ways people learn. Whether teaching The Living Mesa or facilitating a Family Lineage workshop she engages the creative mind with projects such as: sand paintings/medicine wheels, spirit dolls, drumming, soul writing, despacho making, Chi Chung moving meditations, sacred psycho-drama, and personal shield or mask making, to name a few.mesa5-2

She works extensively with childhood traumas, suicide thoughts, depression, and loss of self, in the development of being present. Her gift is the ability to bring to the light that which hides people’s true potential.
